Both literally and figuratively…
As I sit here in my beautiful new house in Chiang Mai, it’s
pouring outside. Every day I wake up, I can’t help but think of all the
blessings that have been raining down on Amy and I this past week, since we left
for Thailand.
It all started on our layover in Taipei, Taiwan. We had
got in touch with a new ministry contact that is going to be working with AIM and they
agreed to meet us at the Taipei airport and take us around during our 13-hour
layover. We had a difficult time finding each other upon arrival, but finally
we met. The Roberts family showed us such wonderful hospitality and grace. They
treated us to meals all day, showed us around the city, and gave us such fond
memories of Taiwan. When we left, they even offered us a love offering, which
provided for our lodging and most of our transportation for almost a week
before we found our house. Praise Jesus! I will put their info up soon for
anyone who is interested in more information about the Roberts family and their
ministry.
Since arriving in Chiang Mai, we have already been blessed
with so many amazing new friends. We’ve met amazing people that have poured
into us, encouraged us, and given us tips on the city. We visited a church our
first Sunday and have been introduced to so many opportunities for community
and fellowship.
The Lord also provided an amazing missionary couple, the
Duroys, who sold us our motorbike, and have been an awesome encouragement to
us, plus great company. They have given us helpful information on things from
health care to churches and Anders was even kind enough to set up our wifi.
