Happy Thanksgiving!
I just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you (all my
family, friends, and supporters) how grateful I am for you. Your prayers and
support mean so much and definitely make a difference in my ministry here. All
of the notes of encouragement and comments on my blog mean more to me than you
can know and bring a smile to my face each time.
I hope you are having an amazing Thanksgiving wherever you
may be, and just know that someone in Jinotepe, Nicaragua is thinking about
you.
Things that I have learned to be grateful for on the World
Race:
1. Warm showers.
2. Having access to toilet paper (and being able to flush
it).
3. Bug-free homes (though I can’t say I have gotten used to
finding scorpions, cockroaches, and tarantulas in my bedroom…).
4. US postal who will bring packages all the way from mom to
me.
5. Having the internet and a strong connection! (to keep in
contact with friends and family)
6. Gracious ministry contacts: we had the most amazing
Nicaraguan Thanksgiving dinner today J
7. Being able to easily communicate with others (though my
Spanish is slowly growing)
8. Having access to a washer and a drier (it was very
humbling being taught by a young Nicaraguan girl, yesterday, how to wash my
clothes outside- I think she thought something was wrong with me because I
didn’t have the system down…)
9. Having privacy.
10. Turning on a faucet and having water come out, without
pumping it for 5 minutes.
11. Meat and vegetables.
12. My laptop, which miraculously started working again J
13. Being free to go places by myself.
14. Wearing jeans.
Just for fun, here is a video of my team being silly and relaxing after a day of ministry. (don’t judge 😉 )
