My final two months in Bolivia and Chile have passed by so rapidly and here I am at final debrief, heading home in only a few short days.  I keep trying to write about Bolivia but inevitably each time I start writing the draft gets torn up and thrown away.  So even though I am having trouble putting my thoughts into words I wanted to send out a quick update:

Bolivia

We were in Villa Tunari, a tiny town of 4,000 in the middle of the Bolivian jungle, a place where Bolivians go to rest and truckers stop to pause on their long trek across the continent.  We lived in a Baptist church.  The month was slow, restful, and isolated.

Chile

We were charged with finding new organizations that could use a team in the future.   This was my second time doing this (read about my first time in Malaysia here) and we focused mostly on the Valparaiso region.  I’d like to share more about this month in a separate post.

Final Debrief

And so just like that I find myself going home soon.  Final debrief is a time to reunite with the squad, to celebrate the past year, to reflect on all that we have learned and how we’ve grown, and to look forward to the next chapter of life.  I have lots of thoughts as I look back over this past year and I’m thus really thankful for this time to begin processing everything.

So basically the words are having difficulty making it to the paper right now, but I am excited to share more with you as I continue to reflect on this journey.
