We all got put into new teams.

My new team is Team Tenacious

Hannahmarie, Me, Chloe, Alyssa, Bailea, and Elizabeth (respectively)

Alyssa and I believe the team should have been named: W.O.W: Tenacious Skittle Dragons. W.O.W stands for Women of Wisdom. Tenacious because we chose to give our all and persevere in our race. Skittles because we are all unique individuals of different flavors and colorful personality. Dragons because dragons are rad.

What We Did

We were partnered with another team named Abba’s Chosen, and together, we were (unofficially) Popsicle Sticks–and please don’t ask why that’s our collective team name because none of us know why.

One part of the ministry we did included visits to schools to hold programs. We shared Bible stories, sang fun songs, and sometimes prayed for every single individual child. It’s humbling to see the Holy Spirit move through us and within the students who gave their lives to Christ!

We moved around three base living quarters and visited multiple churches in multiple villages. Although physically, mentally, and (you guessed it) emotionally challenging to be in movement so often that. . .

I learned to be open to spontaneity

I learned to trust in the Holy Spirit since we didn’t get to see the results of ministry very often

and I learned the simple power of relying completely on God when speaking encouragement to churches.

One woman in Abba’s Chosen, my awesome friend Jessie “Jess” Johnson, once told me that it was awesome to go to different churches and bring encouragement like Titus in the New Testament.

She’s right: the sharing of the Word, declaring the victory of Jesus’ death and resurrection in our testimonies, and praying for every village (not just once, but long afterwards as well), is an incredible opportunity to serve God’s people. It definitely was not the kind of ministry I expected, but I am thankful God chose me for it.
