Sorry for not posting often as I said I would. Internet service has been extrememly difficult in the remote parts of India that we are at. Also, in November and December, I was in Cuenca, Ecuador. I failed to really see the lessons God was teaching at the time and did not clearly see the moments when God showed up. That’s why I didn’t write any blogs. Instead, I videoed snippets of our lives in order to bring you along on the journey, which hasn’t been posted until now because of the lack of internet when we hit India.

In Cuenca, what really hit me was when our host, Bob, cried on our last night and told us how we were a light among them, the congregation, and anywhere we went. We showed Jesus in our choice to find ways to give and spend time with people, whether it was ministry time or not.

We just obeyed God’s greatest commandment: love your neighbor as yourself. We invited people in and sought to be true friends to people. It looked different for everyone on the team. For one, it meant holding on an English class for youth kids we met. For another, it meant going to the park and playing basketball with the same kids. For another, it meant having us invite people to come to our home for dinner. For another, it meant learning guitar alongside others.

It sounds so simple. But it is pretty simple. God calls us to love others as He loved us. He loved us first, so when we take the initiative to love first, it’s powerful and lifechanging.

When we give and spend time with people with no other motivation beyond love, God imprints his fingerprint.
