Funny how things work…
I wrote the following a few years back…
I
BURY IT DEEP
Twas and tis with intention that I bury these thoughts.
Quiet cries spill up from the grave, clawing and gnawing through the dirt and
the muck. I lay down more dirt buying some time, but beat it I won’t, for if
the dead are alive, then alive they must be. Just a matter of time before it’s
set free. The day is coming, and the day is near when the dead shall rise and I
must face my fear. I want yet I fear!
Strange to me how times will change and the things you thought were dead and buried come back from the grave. In fact it’s a beautiful thing to see zombies walking in my midst, for aren’t we all dead men walking?
The truth is this, 4 months ago I was given a heart for something that I thought I had lost 4 years ago. I felt God tugging me, pulling me, calling me to step in as the youth pastor in my church. Now, today 7/31/2011, I stood before the congregation of my church as Pastor Tom introduced me as the interim youth pastor for Grace United Methodist Church, Venice Fl.
Now my youth are calling me Rabbi Will, (Strangely enough, we are not Jewish!!)
and for some reason i am cool with it.
God is good, and I can’t wait to see what this year will hold.
