This is a
quick blog before we head into Managua, Nicaragua. It sounds like internet
access is scarce, so this might be the last one for a while.

This morn,
we left Guatemala City, save for Mike Sanders, Melina and Josh. Mike started having
violent vomiting last night around 1am, and did not stop until about 3:30am. I
happened to be up dong some logistical stuff and helped him as much as I could,
before he finally went to a clinic/hospital in the early morning. They’ll get
results tomorrow on whether he has Malaria, Dengue Fever, or Salmonella. When
he’s healthy enough, all three will join their team.

In the
movie, Gladiator, one servant character says something like, “Some things I do
because I want to; some things I do because I have to.” I’m learning to do
exactly that, and it’s not easy. I’m also learning whether it’s me that needs
to change, or need to challenge the other party that I have issues with.

It’s been a
blessing to see all of L squad again. We’ll all leaving tomorrow morning at 5am
on a 12 hr bus ride through Honduras, then to our destination, Managua. One
team will be going to Costa Rica. My team will be with Jubilee and squad leader,
Andi. I don’t know if I’m more excited about going to a country that loves
baseball, or serving with team Jubilee and/or Andi. 🙂 I guess that’s a
question I’d dwell on any day of the week.

Lastly, I am
on “No Shave November.” Thanks for all your e-mails, comments, donations, and
prayers. Miss you all!
