Sooooooo everyone has been asking me are you excited about going on this missions trip in a couple of days.  Well, the answer is always an awkward “No…”  It is not that I hate this or prefer to do something else.  I am just super excited about the movie Zero Dark Thirty, which I shall be blessed enough to see on Thursday, and this excitement has eclipsed everything else.  Those of you that are unfamiliar with me may be really confused right now.  Why would someone be more excited about a movie than a yearlong missions trip?

My answer is Friends and Family.

You may be like “Huh?

You read right I said Friends and Family.  One of my earliest memories is of watching Robocop with my Mom in the theater. And ever since that day a lot of my bestest memories involve film.  Whether with my family when I was in elementary and middle school or friends in high school and college, the people I have loved always accompanied me.  It has always been our mutual passion.  I just love the joint experience, the time spent together and the shared thoughts and emotions that we would discuss after the films.  I love it and I will miss it.  I guess this is my roundabout way of saying, I am going to miss everyone that has been sitting in a theater with me for the past 28 years.

So, to all of you I am leaving I will miss you.  And on Thursday I will take in one more film to talk to you about, only this time that conversation will have to wait until next year.  🙂
