This is an overview of my ministry last month in Cambodia.

This month we are working with a wonderful contact named Vuthy in a small village about 25 miles outside of the small beach city of Kampot. Vuthy is a Cambodia on fire for God, which is really rare, considering the small amount of Christians in this country. Vuthy has followed God's call to return to his home village, after living in Phnom Penh, the capital city, to start a school to teach the local kids English.

A couple years later here we are working with Vuthy at his English school. He has a school that has about 100 students a day spread throughout 12 classes during the day. He has some young boys that stay with him to learn English, live life and be discipled by Vuthy. There are some older boys which serve as interns, living with Vuthy and serving as translators in the class, or teachers when he doesn't have outside teams volunteering to help him.

This month we also got the privilege to start a partnership with a local temple school that has classes ranging from little kids to 15 year olds with class sizes varying between 20 to 55. It is a lot of work and can be stressful to have such a large class with different English levels, but it is a great opportunity to show Jesus to the community that just couldn't be passed up.

Besides teaching, we do miscellaneous tasks around the village and school everything from playing soccer, to harvesting rice, to praying for sick people on the village. Furthermore we also run Vuthy's church on Sundays where we do a kids time, lead worship and preach.

Ministry here isn't a choice. It isn't something you can do if you feel like it, it's a lifestyle just how God intended it to be. There always seems to be students around or at least the boys Vuthy takes care of and houses. Ministry here is a lifestyle that requires you to buy in daily from the moment you wake until the moment you fall asleep. It can be tiring and stressful, but it is a ministry we seek to love and serve others joyfully in. It is a ministry filled with Cambodian people that have truly captured my heart.
