Money is a big part of any missions trip.
Whether it’s 11 months, 11 days, or 11 hours- money is more than likely a bit necessary to make it happen.
I have never been more aware of this fact, as I sit and stare at a $16,000 cost associated with my World Race mission trip.
Something dawned on me the other day, though: I can have all the money in THE WORLD and be FULLY funded, but if I don’t have PRAYER SUPPORT and God’s covering, IT DOESN’T MATTER.
See the thing is, all of the financial support that this world has to offer my mission trip is completely WORTHLESS with out strong Prayer support to back it up! There is something so special about a believer falling to their knees in the stead of their brother or sister! God himself is pleased by such a sound!
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
{James 5:16b}
After a Sunday night church service this past weekend, 7 or 8 strong, beautiful young women of God literally SURROUNDED me in love and prayer. They laid hands on me and went to our father TOGETHER, on my behalf! God then blessed me with the opportunity to pray for all of them, and for all that God is doing in each of their lives! I couldn’t help but cry- the love was ethereal.
My point is, I would rather have PRAYER over PENNIES any day.
Money can pay for my World Race gear. Money can provide me with plane tickets to training camp and launch. And money can even buy me all of the DEET bug spray that I can fit into my bag so I don’t get eaten alive.
But you know what, money CANNOT verbally declare that God surrounds me with a hedge of protection. Money CANNOT ask God to open the hearts of the nations and to prepare a place for me and my squad in the countries that we’re headed to. And money CANNOT surround me with a love so TANGIBLE, I can almost grasp it.
Please, JOIN ME on my World Race. SUPPORT me. And I DO NOT mean by clicking on the “SUPPORT ME!” link at the top of page {although that would be awesome too! lol}. I mean by praying for me. Praying WITH me.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in [your] prayers to God for me.” {Romans 15:30}
