So…on March 22nd, I felt like the Lord was calling me to take a giant leap of faith trust Him for the impossible. The impossible looked like 16 thousand dollars. I wrestled greatly with this idea and ran it by my community. I remember sitting in my dinning room/living room (kinda the same thing in my apartment) and talking to one of my closest friends and co-leader in our community group about what I felt like the Lord was telling me. I remember looking right at him and asking him, “Have I lost it?”
I remember Chris jokingly saying, “Yes, but I think this is really of God and if He opens the door, I think you should go for it.” So God threw open the door at my interview with
Rusty Jackson on the 25th of March and two days later I was in training camp. I’m going for it. Training camp was amazing but I did not really have any time to start working on support raising while I was there. It was not until about April 5th or 6th that I had a chance to really begin raising money.
There is an amazing scene in the Gospels where the disciples are in a boat in the middle of a storm on a lake and Jesus starts walking towards them on this lake. Yes, He was walking on the water. Something that is impossible for man but simple for God. They see Him and are totally freaked out, which I think I would be to. But Jesus commands them to not be afraid. “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” (Matt14:28). Jesus tells him to come on out and Peter does. A normal human being begins to walk on water because of an Overcoming Savior. Way cool!!
Given there was a point when Peter took his eyes of Jesus because of the storm and began to sink, but Jesus came along and pulled him out of the water and the two began to walk hand in hand back to the boat; STILL WALKING ON WATER. I love this scene. It just goes to show what can happen in our lives when we really trust in the Lord for the impossible. Were the other disciples thinking he had lost his mind when he stepped onto the water? Maybe. But Peter trusted Jesus and was able by the power of God to do something that was impossible.
So with all that said. Support update after 3 weeks of Support Raising:
