So if I am being honest, I was really scared coming back from training camp for one major reason: 16 thousand dollars in less than 2 months. Those numbers don’t really mix well in my world. In fact, the goal seemed to be out of this world in a major way. It reminds me of the scene in Mark 7. There are five thousand people gathered around Jesus and Jesus tells the disciples to feed them. They are shocked because it would apparently take eight months salary to feed all of them. I can totally relate to their emotions here. I can see myself saying, “Uh Jesus,, I don’t carry that much cash and this can not be done. It does not make a single bit of sense. You have got to be kidding me. I can’t pull this off”— which is the point. 🙂
And so Jesus just gathers what they have which is five loaves of bread and two fish, prayed to the heavens, and then started feeding people. End Result: EVERYONE WAS FULLY SATISFIED (v42) and the leftovers were more than what they started with. 5000 people were fed till their stomachs were totally full and they had leftovers to last the rest of the week. God’s Miraculous Provision.
Point in being: Jesus will provide for all of our needs. Looking at all the money that it would take to go overseas, I was honestly nervous. To my shame, I have never trusted Jesus for a total miracle outside my own salvation in my almost 9 years of following Jesus. And I felt like God was calling me in joining the June team to trust Him for something that was incredibly beyond me. And God has been providing like crazy already. And it has been blowing me away. Thus far the Lord has provided:
3 Families/Friends who are committed to giving 100 per month
3 Families/Friends who are committed to giving 50 per month
2 Families/Friends who are committed to giving 20 per month
which works out to 490 per month x 11 months = $5390—– WOW!!!!
and on top of that The Lord has already provided 3018 in one time gifts!!!
Which brings our two week total support to $8408.
I know,, that is what I thought too. It seems like just a few days ago when I was at $1000 (and it actually was.)
This has been one of the largest faith growing experiences of my life for sure. To see God provide this massively in two weeks is nuts. Yet I know that the Lord called me to take a leap of faith and trust Him for something that was greatly beyond me. And what God calls us to, He provides for. It has been moving, humbling, and amazing to see the Lord work.
Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray. I know God is going to provide in amazing ways that are a testament to His amazing power and provision alone.
