//Sickness//

Physical sickness has a way of making you think you have been beaten down or overcome by your circumstances. This journey has brought me to places where I have eaten things and drank things from sources that are less than sanitary or approved by the board of health. But through it all the Lord has protected my health. Praise His name! Then month eight, Nepal. Through a series of bazaar and normal events my body has been through it all. From head ache, body aches, fever, runny nose, weakness, exhaustion, and cough the last few weeks have not only left its mark on my body but my teams. In the long moments sitting on the toilet or tossing and turning in my bed I have met God in a new way. He doesn’t leave His children or forsake them when adversity in any form comes but He is there. He is my ever present help. And He comes to help in the moments of crying for relief, for healing. The thing is this year I have passed by and spoken to countless individuals whose physical bodies are sick. The sickness is plain to see and the remedy simple; our healer God. For example, at the beginning of this month we stayed in the sanctuary of a small church that resides next to a leporsey colony. The church has many roles in their community but they pray and provide for the needs of individuals in this community. Pray that our Nepali brothers and sisters that they never tire of doing good. I have also passed numerous people who have a sickness of soul and through the vision that Holy Spirit gives have seen this sickness with only one remedy Jesus; our savior. One of my first conversations in Nepal was with a young girl on a bus. The bus rides here I must explain for your entertainment. We are packed like sardines in a NonAC school bus with all those from the mountain going into the city for work or school. So all the produce and school books that you have to take in the city is on the bus next to your neighbor or tied to the roof as we bump around the dirt road made for mountain bikes and is being used as a two lane highway for buses. All that to say you have a lot of time to talk to your neighbor that may be closer to you than you would like. My first bus in Nepal I got lucky; window seat! And a young girl about my age came and sat next to me. She was on her way into the city to do her MBA field placement. I asked her, “have you ever heard of Jesus?” She said, “yes, I believe in Jesus. I believe in everything that is good. I think Jesus was a good man. I am a Hindu but Christians do a lot of good things.” I went on to share with her everything good comes from God and to believe in Jesus He says He is the only way. He is the way the truth and the life and through Jesus we have direct access to God. The Holy Spirit comes inside of us and we are made new. She said, “I will have to think about these things. I don’t think Jesus is the only way. There are many good things out there. But you have direct access to God I want to have that.” As she got off the bus that day I said a prayer, “Father, soften her heart to the truth of you. May she experience your love and freedom today. Open her eyes to see Jesus for who He is our savior.” All this to say we are all a little sick and need a healer, a savior, a deliverer, a provider and Jesus is all of these things He has come that we may have life and life to the fullest!

P.S. I am no longer physically sick! And my team is doing swell! Don’t worry mom! Thanks for your prayers and support family!

Also, as time on the race comes to an end a whirlwind of transitions are a head of me. First, team changes and Central America is coming in the next few weeks! Also, when I get back to the states I have the opportunity to go to the DR and support some missionary friends. I am so excited for this opportunity if you would like to be a part of this journey you can private message me. And finally, it is looking like I will be moving to Bourbonnais for an indefinite period of time after the new year. Still figuring out housing, job, transportation and all the things. I know that the Lord is going to take care of all my needs! Please join in praying for me and these transitions and if it is on your heart to support me in any way you can private message me!
