Who I knew God as in Africa
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1

God needs to be preeminent, supreme, first, the one who supersedes all as He always has sense the beginning of time (Colossians 1:15-23.) We learn that the Lord God never had a beginning but is the beginning and end, who created all good things; He is the Master Creator.

I have always marveled at creation. The beautiful waters, landscapes, humanity and water colored sky. But through this journey on the world race my eyes have been opened to the diversity in creation; nature and humanity.

We were all created by God in His image. From the physical characteristics, personality and gifts – the world proclaims the glory of the Lord in its’ astounding beauty. Because we bare the image of the Lord we too are creators.

Dancing is a universal language that brings people together to create something unique, telling their story and bringing glory to the Lord.

But it does not stop with the traditional arts but expands to farming, cooking, craft, sewing and service. I have loved learning from my African brothers and sisters the last three months about the incredible privilege to bear the image of God and create!

Abraham; makes jewelry out of recycled goods in Kigali Rwanda.

Ntafferu; prepares the traditional coffee ceremony in Bihar Dar Ethiopia with great poise.

Children from South Sudan spontaneously dance to join in community; sharing in joy and long suffering.
