Ever wonder what happens to those boxes of toys you donate every year to Samaratin's Purse? My teammates, Paul and Katrina, had the opportunity to hand the boxes out to the kids at our ministry. They were able to be right in the middle of the gift giving party!
When Katrina returned, she told us how different the experience was than what she imagined it to be.
"Back home, you have this idea of how excited the kids will be once they open your box of gifts. But, YOU HAVE NO IDEA! Their excitement and smiles exceed all of your wildest expectations! People back home need to see how much of an impact these boxes ACTUALLY make on these kids. The boxes completely change their circumstances!"
Remember, these kids don't own anything. Maybe 2 sets of clothes and a pair of sandals… that's it! So, the idea that they actual HAVE something to call their own, means the world to them. It didn't matter what was in the box. All that mattered was that they had something to call their own, for once.
