Today was the first day of my World Race. We took the red eye flight from LA to Guatemala City and then drove to Antigua to stay in a hostel. Sad to say we're not actually "camping" yet. But we're here waiting and preparing for the rest of our squad who comes in tomorrow morning early. God is really blessing this squad. Before he met us here, one of our squad members, Brandon Boyd, was given the opportunity to speak at Catalyst Atlanta and speak in front of 30,000 people about our squad! I didn't know what Catalyst was at first, but apparently it's a big deal. You can watch the video above.
We spent a lot of time tonight thanking God for bringing us to this point and remembering all those who are supporting us through this ministry. So, for that, I just wanted to thank EVERYONE!
Thanks go out to all my friends and family who are making this happen for me and my squad! And a special thanks to Corinth Reformed Church for adopting me! I know I can't thank yall enough but I hope I can return the blessing through my work this year and show yall what God is doing in these countries.
From here, it's on to Chimaltenango to the ministry we'll be working with for the month. I took some videos of the trip here, but the internet is too slow here to upload them all. But, here's some pictures of the city and some of the squad.
Also, here's a little bit about the ministry we'll be working with for our first month in Guatemala and a link to some pictures of the kids:
Under the visionary direction and leadership of missionaries David and Becky Dvorak, the LIFE HOMES of Guatemala have been established on a beautiful 18 acre property, about 1 hour outside of Guatemala City. Since 1996, David and Becky have been serving the street kids of Guatemala, and rescuing many of them to live and learn at the life homes. Also, the newest home on the property in the Tender Mercy Home to minister to HIV babies. Right now there are over 40 children being blessed, restored and educated at the Guatemala Life Home, with the loving care of our 12 national staff members.

If you notice the first picture on the left… am I crazy or does it not look like there are A LOT of unlaid CMU blocks waiting there for me?! I know the girls are excited about loving on these kids, but it might be a construction month for me. Keep yall posted!
Pictures are pending! Waiting for the internet to come back up for the last hour so I decided to just shoot out the blog now and put the pictures up later.
