Talk about a blessing. On Thursday September 1st my supervisor at work notified me that my hours were going to be cut. I was going to go from being full-time to part-time and that meant I would defiantly notice it in my paycheck. You may be wondering… But why?
So, during the school year I am a preschool teacher but when the summer comes around I tend to get extra hours because our program turns into an all day summer camp.
As the summer came to an end so did my hours. My initial reaction to my supervisor was "Okay” inside I began thinking
“I still need to raise money so I’ll just keep selling whatever stuff I have left to make my deadlines.”
To be honest I was bummed out but there was something (God) assuring me that everything was going to be okay.
Over the 4 day weekend (on Labor Day) I called my supervisor and asked if there was anyway she could keep me full-time. Her reaction was
"Well, I think I can work some things out, come in tomorrow morning and we can talk about it"
The next morning I went into work I sat down in front of her desk and she began telling me
"I really don't need anyone in the mornings but, if you need the hours I can put you in the office and, you can take care of the paper work until the end of the month."
You could only imagine how happy I was to hear those words. It doesn't stop there.
So, for the past few days I’ve been going in to work and going through health files and making sure the preschool parents have filled out the paper work correctly and as I was looking through files on Wednesday another preschool center, in the same company called in and asked my supervisor if there was anyone she could send to help out in the morning for 2 hours.
Well you can probably guess what happened next, as soon as my supervisor got off the phone she asked me
“Hey Viv, would you like to work two extra hours in the morning”
What do you think I said,
“Yeah Gurl, I’ll take it”
=D God is just so awesome!
Think about it. . . I went from having my hour’s cut, to being full-time, and then having overtime for the next 3 weeks at a center that is literally 3 minutes away.
God keeps blowing my mind.
