Today makes day 100 that I have been on the race!!
To celebrate today I wanted to write a unique blog of VIVIAN FACTS on the WORLD RACE!!!!
Weird “foods” I have eaten:
CRICKETS…more than I can count.
FROGS…more than I care to admit.
Balut (fertilized duck egg)…2 because they were actually good.
Live larvae coconut worm…Only 1 because it was wiggly.
Sleeping conditions:
I have slept on the floor with and without my sleeping pad.
I have slept outside in my tent.
I have slept in hotels.
I have slept in hostels.
I have woken to a BIG cockroach on my leg.
I have woken to a small cockroach on my face.
Toilets:
Toilets with and without a seat.
A FULL toilet on a moving bus.
Airplane toilet.
Outside in the middle of the African bush at 1 am. *Thank you Jesus that a lion didn’t eat my butt.
Outside behind buildings.
Toilets that you must flush with a bucket of water.
Squatty Potties!!…..I don’t get pee on my shoes anymore!
Showers:
Warm showers!!
COLD SHOWERS!
Bucket showers
Wet wipe baths…..
……no showers 😉
Transportation statistics so far:
30 Flight Hours
104 Bus Hours
With (almost) 4 countries down, I still have 7 to go!
Some days are big adventure/explore days and some are long/hardworking “give it ALLLLLLLL you got” days.
I have learned so much about myself…usually on the long/hardworking days.
Everyday I look for opportunity to push myself farther and become the woman God created me to be.
I am having the adventure of a lifetime but believe it or not, I miss “home.” I miss all my supporters/friends/family like you wouldn’t believe. Everyday I have to remind myself where the heck I am and thank God for giving me this opportunity. Even though it is difficult…it is well worth it!
I love you all!!
