EIGHT months ago, we set off on this adventure around the world and into the heart of God, literally following Jesus and His invitation to go and make disciples of all nations.  Matthew 28:18

We are advancing the Kingdom of God as we share His love for people, and the truths of the Bible are penetrating my own heart such that I understand God in more profound ways.

Thank you for joining me on this journey by reading my blog, praying for me, writing me notes, and supporting me financially.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.  Philippines 1:4-5

Here is a little trip down memory lane, to remind you of some of what WE have done together in Jesus’s name already this year …

Month 1: October 2008 PHILIPPINES

We tutored and cared for children.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.  Hebrews 4:14-16

Month 2: November 2008 CHINA
We participated in a cultural exchange as an excuse to build relationships and share the Gospel with university students.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” John 14:6

Month 3: December 2008 KENYA
We encouraged widows to depend on God and to maintain their integrity.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

Month 4: January 2009 UGANDA
We preached the gospel hut-to-hut.
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry.” John 6:35

Month 5: February 2009 TANZANIA
We taught children about the power of God’s Word.
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Month 6: March 2009 INDIA

We gave hope to the hopeless.
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:10-14

Month 7: April 2009 MOLDOVA

We prepared the fields so that orphans living in the transition homes could learn practical life skills and be able to provide for themselves.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5

Month 8: May 2009 ROMANIA

We transformed houses into homes.
Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14

Coming soon …

Month 9: June 2009 HUNGARY

Months 10 & 11: July & August 2009 Central America

Every day is unique, offering another opportunity to REJOICE in the Lord’s goodness and grace and to SERVE Him by LOVING others.  That’s the case for me and for you, wherever we are.  What concerns God the most is the state of our hearts.

That said, I would really like to finish the next three months of the Race.
In order to do that, I need your help:

I still need to raise approximately $1,500.  Please consider supporting me financially.

More importantly, I need your prayers!  It is an awesome challenge to daily deny oneself, take up the cross, live exposed in community, and stand firm in the faith while traveling and laboring physically and spiritually.  Yes, I choose to press in and all that.  But prayer has the power to promote and to protect.  We’re partners, right?!

It would also mean a lot to me if you would leave a comment or contact me every now and then …

THANK YOU!
