The World Race is all about LOVE!
The focus is global missions, of course, but it’s also about growing in our individual relationships with God and about living in COMMUNITY.
I have been blessed by the opportunity to get to know so many incredible people in all these different countries, and I am especially fond of my teammates.
They wink at me when I am preaching; they laugh at my jokes and impressions; they join in and sometimes even suggest dance party time; they sing “Go, Go, Go, Vicki!” (a slight variation of the tune from the Joseph musical); they rub my back and hold my hand; they cuddle up and watch DVDs with me – and they don’t seem to mind when I talk through the whole thing; they consult me as an “expert” in history, literature, language, and Bible knowledge – as if!; they slip encouraging notes in my Bible or journal where they know I will find them; they call me out when I’ve been rude; they challenge me to try new things and are patient with me while I learn;
… they are so good to me, and I love them so much!
