My friend and team leader Laura Meyers made a great analogy the other day
about the different kinds of Christians there are, based on footwear:
Imagine life as a race.
What kinds of shoes are you wearing?
What kind of shoes should you be wearing if you want to really have life to the full?
Slippers: Are you complacent about your relationship with God?
Heels: Are you “religious” and more concerned with appearances than relationship?
Sneakers: Are you ready to “run with perseverance”?
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles,
and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith,
who for the joy set before Him endured the cross,
scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Something to think about …
