The notes in my Life Application Bible state that age 30 was a good time to begin an important task in Jewish culture:

Priests
began their ministry at the age of 30 (Numbers 4:3).
Joseph was 30 years old when he began serving the king of Egypt (Genesis 41:46).
David was 30 years old when he began to reign over Judah (2 Samuel 5:4).

Even Jesus began his public ministry at the age of 30 (Luke 3:23).

And I, Victoria, am 30 years old while on the World Race.

That’s right: I’m 30 years old.   Whooppee!

[My birthday was right before Launch back in September.]

It used to seem so old to me, and it still does to some of the younger people on the squad and some of the people we meet. There are certain expectations that go along with the number. But my only expectation is that God continue to do amazing things!

God has arranged for me to participate in the World Race this year for various reasons. Just as He has called each one of us on the squad.  We come from different backgrounds and experiences. And we are learning and growing in different ways

I am so thankful for what God is doing in my life, for how He is inviting me to participate in His Kingdom. I know that this year fits into His plan and purpose for my life. This is not the beginning of my relationship with Him, and it had better not be the climax!

God is BIGGER than I ever imagined!

And yet He is also more intimate and personal than I ever imagined as well.

The World Race has been an incredible experience already!

If history and tradition hold true, then being age 30 is indeed “a good time to begin an important task.”  And if that is prophetic for me personally, then I receive – yeah, I will definitely walk in that …!

And you – whatever age you are, trust that the Lord is working and His good plans cannot be thwarted!  Let this 2009 be a Year of the Lord’s Favor for all of us!
