Team Judah – along with

is serving in the dumps and the red light district of Manila this month.
This is a powerful team, y’all. They have been anointed by the Holy Spirit, and they are eager to walk in their giftings. I have included some teasers from their blogs below, and I encourage you to check out the originals for yourselves.

Four stories below our room at the hostel are bars, nightclubs, and black market brothels. The atmosphere is depressing and perverse. Lust seems to dominate everything. Even the suggestive telephone numbers plastered across crude billboards have apparent shock value since many of the numbers start with 666.
YET GOD IS HERE. …
In broken English, she started to share a bit about her life with me. With reluctance at first, she embarrassingly explained that she doesn’t do religious things anymore because she has done a lot of bad things in her life. I immediately told her with my sincerest smile, “That’s okay, so have I… I think God is calling you back to Him. He remembers you as a girl and loves you the same. I think God wants to forgive you.” Immediately tears came into her eyes. “I believe that,” she said, “because it has happened many times. Many times I feel this way, but I don’t listen.” My heart broke for her, and I realized in that moment that God put me there to help her listen.
Nearly five thousand people call the dumps home. They are squatters who have nowhere else to live or are scrappers who try to scavenge for material to turn into the smallest bit of profit.
Despite the overwhelming sights and smells,
Janina Laier is falling in love with the people at the dump, and she is learning to give thanks in each and every circumstance.
