HEY FAM I’VE MISSED Y’ALL
So. It’s been awhile. I hope you’ve all had WONDERFUL holidays! Mine were pretty good, it was all about family, friends, and having a good time and was what the doctor ordered!
Tonight, part of the World Race group I’m in started a Bible study. The 12 of us involved started out with learning about how loving God and loving people can be put into a wheel (pictured right there –>).
Loving God starts with prayer and reading the Bible, and loving people starts with witnessing to those who do not know God whereas fellowship loves those who do know Him.
We continued on to talk about Mark 5:1-20 which is a story about a man who is possessed and he sees Jesus and He casts the demons out of the man. Jesus then tells the man to go and share his story with all of his friends and family “…and bring back word to them of how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had sympathy for you and mercy on you,” (Mark 5:19). After we read this story, we were asked if we would be willing to share our story the same way that the Demoniac did. Each of us talked some about it and my answer was: “I am, but I will have to learn to step out of my comfort zone in order to do so. Also, I don’t see my story as being significant and being able to change others because it seems tiny compared to many people’s stories.”
One girl responded to me and said that her mentor was in the same place before she went on the World Race. Her mentor discovered that her story was significant and that it did count because it was proof of God’s faithfulness and love. I wrote it down in my journal and thought over what it meant for a second. This is what I came up with:
Everyone’s God Story matters. Every. Single. One. Because it is a testimony to God’s power and love. Even if it is “just a plain story” of being raised in a Christian home and always knowing God or knowing of Him. Don’t compare your story to others because no one has the same story and God works to impact everyone differently.
Your story always counts. Always. Because it’s a God story.
I want to challenge you all to pray about sharing your story with one person some time this month (January). Pray about what person you are meant to speak to and then comment below or email me and tell me about it.
You don’t have to, but it’d be pretty cool to hear about it!
