Throughout the race I’ve often asked myself, “How can I still pour into their lives, even if I am not physically there? How can I make a difference?”

A few days ago I met a boy named David, and that’s when God answered my questions. David lives in poverty with his family, but that didn’t hide his joy. While playing a game of soccer with him, I couldn’t help but notice his shoes – God answered my doubts through his shoes; his Toms.

I can help.

We can help.

We can make a difference, even while not physically there.

Often times, people feel like they can’t help make a difference throughout the world because they aren’t physically there, but it is a lie from the enemy. We need to remember the truth; we serve a BIG God.

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

God wants to use each person to help make a difference in the world, and this is just one way. Rather than spending money at places that don’t make a difference in the world – spend the money at Toms.

Each time we buy something for ourselves, we are giving to someone like David – someone who was born into a family of poverty, someone who can’t afford shoes.

Partner with Toms and founder Blake Mycoskie, someone who is changing lives of people who have so little.

One small change in where you shop can make a difference; can change someone’s life. I have seen it, and it brings more joy than words can say.

Be that difference.

Be that difference in someone’s life–someone like David.
