Cold hard confession: Life after training camp has been extremely hard, like way harder than I imagined it would be. It’s hard to explain the reverse culture shock I’m experiencing without actually leaving the country. I’ve talked with several of my squad mates and they are experiencing the same thing.
I deeply miss my squad, my squad leaders, my squad mentor, my squad coaches & the list just goes on. I miss waking up to the sound of someone yelling, “C-Squad, time to get up!! 10 minutes ‘til we start our workout.” I miss seeing my squadmates belongings strung all over our campsite (Hhmmhh, Lucie.) I miss cold nights around the fire pit. I miss my tent. I miss the field scenarios. I miss corporate worship. When I think about training camp, I don’t think about my “lost luggage” or how cold my toes got at night … I think about my squad, my family, and how much I miss them.
C-Squad became my family in those 10 short days, and adjusting to life without them has been tough.
Anyways, I’m two months away from launch and just over one month away from my next financial deadline. My next deadline falls on December 18th and by this date I will need to have $10,000 in my World Race account. It may seem like a big number, but I have some great news: I’m over halfway there! (PTL aka Praise The Lord.)
To help me get to my next goal I have created a “World Race Jeopardy” board.
Here’s how it works.
-
Pick a country.
-
Pick a number.
-
Donate that amount.
-
You win whatever is behind the amount you selected!
“Greece for 50, please.” “Chile for 25.” “I’ll take Uganda for 100.”
Sounds fun, right? I think so too!
Things you could win by playing “World Race Jeopardy:”
-
“Every Tribe & Nation” T-shirt
-
Fashion&Compassion jewelry
-
Homemade jalapeno jelly
-
Handmade greeting cards
-
Sponsor a day on the race!
-
You pick a day (birthday, anniversary, etc) & I give you a complete rundown of what life on the race looked like that day!
-
Postcard from the country you selected
-
Souvenir from the country you selected
Well, that’s a wrap folks. As always, thanks for listening. Thanks for praying and thanks for being there for me. It means more than you know.

PS: Wondering why I am most excited for those five countries? Keep reading.
-
Chile: The Lord has really put this place on my heart the last few months. I have never been to Chile but I get really excited when I think about traveling to this country and doing ministry there.
-
Honduras: It has been a dream of mine to go to Spanish speaking countries in hopes of relearning the Spanish I lost as a child. Plus, this place is full of beauty and the creativity of our Father.
-
Greece: Greece was not on our original WR route but I am super excited to be traveling there for two different reasons. A) Christine Caine and the A21 campaign are there, B) There are thousands and thousands of immigrants coming to Greece right now and relief is in high need.
-
Uganda: I am so in love with this country. Having been there twice already my heart for this place just continues to grow. I am excited to see and explore other ministries in this country with my team.
-
Ethiopia: Many of you may not know this, but my grandma was a missionary in this country for over 40 years. I have always had a curiosity for this country from the stories Marjorie has told us over the years and I have often thought about what it would be like to travel there and see where my grandma spent most of her life. (You may be thinking, how is she your grandma if she was gone for 40 years? Well long story short, my Grandma Della passed when I was 5. It was tragic for everyone, and I miss her dearly. But my grandpa reconnected with his high school classmate after she had been on the mission field for 4 decades, the two fell in love and got married shortly after.)
