This last month of getting ready for the race has brought new challenges. Alumni warned us to about spiritual warfare and reminded us about the importance of being present where we are. But it wasn’t until a couple of weeks ago that it really hit me.

I know that this is an end of a season, and like every end it is mixed with preparation for what comes next. The next 11 months comes with so many unknowns and that thought alone can be so consuming. It became so easy to forget that finishing strong is just as important as starting well– and they are directly related. The way we finish a season will affect the way we start the next. The attitude we have when finishing will have a positive or negative effect on how we start the next. What may be even more important is that the way we finish the current season is training for how we finish the next. Hopefully with every transition we finish better than we did the time before.

If it’s both terrifying and amazing then you should definitely pursue it.

With that being said, I want to thank all of those that have supported me. Thank you for challenging and encouraging me through this time of being equally excited and terrified. Thank you for making this time so special. In the last month I have received an overwhelming amount of support and encouragement. I can’t think of words that would accurately describe the impact that support has made! My heart is so full and it was such a blessing to spend my last few days at home with people that have been such a big part of my life.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!

Let the adventure begin!
