Update:
Life is STILL hard and I’m STILL struggling! With all of that in mind, I am relieved to say that God is STILL with me. I’ve had so many wise people in my life tell me that no matter what I have going on, God has something good that’s going to come out of the hardships. The statement, “everything is going to be okay” although painfully over-used, is one that I can never hear enough. Especially when I am going through a time in my life when it seems like everything is falling apart and I have nothing constant to depend on….all I need to hear is “here’s $1,000 for your missions trip” naw, I’m just kidding, haha! All I need to keep in mind is that God has everything that I’m going through already worked out.
I must remember to have faith in His plan for me. I must remember that I’m still nestled safely in the palm of His hand. When everything is falling out from beneath me, I must remember to rely on the only One who will always be there – the One who will always care about me, always lead me, and always be there to pick up the pieces when I make another mistake (because let’s be honest, I don’t know about you, but I am AWESOME at making mistakes). If everything else is going wrong, I can still be joyful just because I have a God that will always love me for exactly who I am.
With that said, I now present to you my awesome God-send of a daily devotion from this morning:
Romans 12:12 (NIV)
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Through God’s Eyes
May God give you His perspective on the things that frustrate you.
May your heart of compassion grow for those who suffer in unimaginable ways.
May you pray as passionately for them as you do for yourself.
May God protect you from a small, selfish mind-set.
May He fill you up with thanksgiving and joy for the freedoms you enjoy!
May He renew your resolve to be a grateful, humble soul.
And may He use you [EVERY DAY] in ways that surprise and bless you.

PS: On a light note, remember, when you’re in a funk you can be thankful for the fact that your life is yours and NOT Meg Griffin’s. It can always be worse, ladies and gentleman 😉 keep that in mind.
