After experimenting with “live”blogging, I reverted to live-tweeting the sessions.  Below is the edited Twitter stream from @theworldrace on September 16, 2011.

We are ready to get started. Caroline makes an important reminder that the space between the front row & the stage is game.

Watching a video from Vanessa O’Neal, January 2011 V squad leader, sharing a story from Uganda, “shotgun evangelism” in a hospital

“The Holy Spirit’s constantly working… harvest’s plentiful…don’t worry about what you’re gonna say b/c it’s not you speaking.”

Michael Hindes taught; follow him: @MichaelHindes

The brokenness is supposed to lead us to dependency… upon God; he’s an awesome steward of it.
With each squad, there’s increasing empowerment, that creates momentum for future squads, but that’s about where we are.
There’s been incredible investment of supernatural power in you; the story’s not supposed to end w/ empowerment.
I want you to move towards calling… there ought to be a momentum…
Today is often overlooked, but it’s an incredibly important day. Hebrews 3:7, Matthew 6:9-13
We’ve had enough navel gazing; today requires movement… motion, momentum… there’s energy in the movement…
“I don’t know what to do next” “MOVE, that’s the next thing to do…get your hands onto something & move.”
You need to move to mature; God would rather hit a moving target… God’s will is for you to grow up… if you’re just willing to respond.
There’s tension between motion & rest; learn how to have momentum while having peace in your life…
You’ll be surprised at how fast “indefinitely” goes.
Not just our past wounds but even past victories hold us back from today; we don’t know how anything else can match them
The future, “destination disease”, also keeps us away from today.
This thing about needing to know the future clearly… Abraham went to a place he didn’t know b/c God told him to move.
Genesis 11:32 On his way to his destiny, Terah died… “Please get moving.”
3 things to focus on while moving:
  1. sowing. start adding value where you are now.
get busy sowing, share your resources, even if you don’t have your stuff together. take what little you have & invest in someone
it’s not just the value you add to others, but the harvest you reap.
  2. learn how to be a servant. we must learn how to serve, focused on a cause bigger than us, serving someone stronger
if we’re afraid of obscurity, a) proverbs 18:16 b) obscurity isn’t a bad place to be.
  3. focus on being a student, someone’s pupil, someone’s mentee, submitted to someone else who will raise you up.
  4. Somebody needs to know you… proximity can be disquieting as you get up close to someone & see that they have issues
…but that’s neither confirmation nor negation… the authority happens after affinity’s been built…
Took Jesus 3 years w/ the disciples before he asked them how they defined him.

The reason why we’re here is because we’re about not just movement but a movement… not the only, not the best, but a movement.

Afterwards, various staff made themselves available to pray for people.  We will see if this and the morning session from the last day of the Awakening have been recorded.
