Ireland, or “Eire” in Gaelic, is roughly the size of West Virginia. In 1921, Ireland’s thirty-two counties split; six of the northern counties remained part of the United Kingdom while the other twenty-six became its own nation. Ireland’s independence grew as it withdrew from the British Commonwealth in 1949 and joined the European Community in 1973.

IrelandThe Emerald Isle has been marked by strife and between Ireland and Northern Ireland; the division is mostly politically driven, but the difference in religion plays a part as well.

Ireland is eighty-seven percent Roman Catholic while Northern Ireland is mostly Protestant. The Irish and British governments have made progress in realizing peace on the island.

As World Racers past and present (even future) convene to worship and learn of the Lord in Ireland’s capital, we believe that unity can and will spill forth in the spiritual realm over this beautiful country.

With the exception of friends and family of current World Race participants, you are invited to join us for some heavenly craic.
