The World Race is launching a five-month trip in January 2011 for 35 individuals that focuses on preventative, outreach, and after-care ministries for human trafficking victims. Participants will travel to India, Thailand, Cambodia, and the United States serving in some of the world’s darkest places.

It’s estimated that 27.1 million people are enslaved all across the world.
Abused.

Neglected.

Raped.

Starved.

And more.

The horrors that they face, the majority of us can only imagine.

Sometimes the best way to keep a bad thing from happening is to take the necessary steps to prevent it. In the spirit of this mentality, the World Race has partnered with several organizations in Southeast Asia committed to preventing the crimes of human trafficking.

These organizations spread the message all across the countryside. They educate locals. They provide alternative opportunities for individuals to make income, opportunities that keep them out of dangerous situations. And the best part is that they spread the love of Christ in the process.

Remember Nhu is one of those organizations that we will be partnering with during the WR :: Human Trafficking Edition trip in 2011.

Remember Nhu builds homes all across the world and rasies young girls to become incredible, infectious, and successful women of God. They provide food, shelter, education, and more. Remember Nhu currently has seven homes spread across five different nations and their ministry is growing every day.

Trevor Curington, January 2010 World Race participant says of Remember Nhu:

There is a lot to finding girls who have a high potential for being trafficked into the sex trade. Some things considered when they chose a girls to join their home is relatives already in the sex trade, broken down homes, parents divorced, no income, no parents, and much more. They have a great system that can accurately predict if a girl will be trafficked. Of all the girls Remember Nhu has brought in, at least 90% of them would have been trafficked into prostitution. So according to this stat, they have kept over 200 girls completely free of this.

The impact of Remember Nhu is huge. It’s imperative to prevent children from being trafficked. Carl Ralston, founder of Remember Nhu, says, “Put yourself in their shoes. Would you rather have been pulled out of prostitution, or have been prevented from ever going into it?”

Below is a video that World Racer Jake Kennedy put together on Remember Nhu.

So what’s it going to be? Are you going to sit there and just be inspired, or are you moved and empowered to make a difference?

Apply for the WR :: Human Trafficking Edition trip and help us bring this thing down.
