Here is a past from upcoming World Race participant Brittany Letsinger, whom we just had the privilege of meeting at training camp last week:

What if?

What if you had made a decision to leave everything you knew, loved, and were comfortable with for an entire year. What if you let each holiday pass knowing you wouldn’t be able to celebrate with your family next year?
Can you imagine not being held, hugged, or touched or kissed on the head by your parents, family, or best friends for year?

What if you forgot about shopping at the mall and decided all you needed would be at sports stores and outdoors stores?
What if you could only have one single backpack to live out of for a year? Yes, I said one. What if your house was a tent?
What if you only had 1 pair of jeans, 2 skirts, 1 dress, 4 pairs of shorts, 6 shirts, and 7 pairs of undies for a year?
What if you lived with the homeless, needy, hurting, and hopeless for an entire year?

What if you felt a spiritual calling bigger and
more powerful than ever before? What if you realized that the world doesn’t
revolve around you? What if you completely changed the way you thought, lived,
and loved? What if the people that used to be closest to you were complete
strangers? What if strangers were your new best friends?

What if you were terrified of heights but got the opportunity to
overcome your fear and bungee jump?
What if you were excited by eating termites?
What if you had to prepare yourself mentally, physically, and
emotionally to have the most influential experience of your life?
What if you had to learn how to live simple?
What if you randomly and regularly talked about things you once would
have thought were disgusting?

What if we cared more about others then ourselves?
What if we discovered interesting hygiene options that would make most Americans get sick to their stomachs?
What if you really decided to live out the phrase “No day but today”? What if the time you have been waiting on for your entire life finely showed up and you wondered if you were really ready?

What if the world was truly against you and all you wanted to do was help?
What if you lost your friends and became best friends with people from all over the world?
What if you knew that you were about to make a difference and a change in people’s lives?
What if you couldn’t go on a date for a year?

What if the abnormal became the normal? What if God changed your life forever? What if you were scared but completely and totally excited at the same time? Would you be ready to become who you were and what you were made for?

What if you were a world racer?

Please continue to pray for me and my teammates as we get ready to leave everything we know… We have training camp in 12 days! Thank you so much to everyone who has recently supported me! It’s been amazing to see how God really does work things out!

“If it scares you… Do it!!!”
