Brad Baldwin is a racer on the October ’09 squad.  He and his team partnered with some people from Mercy Ships to prayer walk across the country of Togo.

We walked for almost ten hours and 32 miles.  I
started the day with an awful attitude.  My loving wife talked to me and asked me to be in a better mood, then prayed for me to have a great day.  As we began to walk things were still not amazing in my heart.  I listened to some Jake Hamilton and my attitude got much better as I focused on the reason I was walking.

Stretching at 4 AM                                                                                               And we’re off!

We had been walking for almost four hours when we passed the
village we lived in.We were so excited to see the sign for the Hotel Safari, the hotel near our house!  We screamed and hollered like a bunch of fools.  We walked for another half hour til we made it into town to get a bite to eat.  After lunch we noticed the temperature had increased significantly.  We were walking and sweating, and falt out hot!  I was talking with Typson and we prayed together in a semi-joking manner, “God could you send some wind and some clouds?”  Within 5 minutes a front moved in that was blowing the palms around like crazy!  Then about ten minutes later, it began to drizzle.
  Heavy rain clouds roll in

We walked in the mist for almost thirty
minutes when Tyson looked at me and said, “I want a fan milk!” (Fan milk is an amazing yogurt popsicle)  About thirty seconds later guess what we saw?  A man sleeping on his fan milk cart.  We woke him up and ate our fan milk.  Within one minute of taking cover to eat, the heavens opened and poured for a long time.  We headed the rest of the way in the rain, wet, cold and with pruned feet and wet socs.  But we made it the 32 miles, and I am sore!

Been going for 10
hours,
trying to keep our smiles!
