Our team arrived in Malaysia after a fairly simple travel day. After a 4 hour flight, and 2 bus rides, we finally made it to our destination. We had a nice dinner, then sat through a quick orientation. This culture is unlike any we have experienced so far. I like it. It’s different. Here are a few facts:
Malaysia is an Islamic country. At birth, the religion is given to those who will practice the faith. The individual doesn’t have much of a choice. Shoes must always be removed when entering a Malaysian home, or place of worship. The traditional greeting resembles a handshake with both hands but without a grasp-the man offers both hands, lightly touches the other individual’s hands, then brings his hands to his chest to mean “I greet  you from my heart.” And finally, our ministry contact Peter told us that the area in which we are staying this month is called the “devil’s stronghold.”
After the orientation, it was late and we were all eager to get some rest. We’re all sleeping in a big room that is used for worship services here. Our squad leader Tara, and the new squad leader Krissy are staying with our team for about a week. I’m glad we were all together, because the events that would soon occur, amazed us all…
During the night, Trevor’s body began to itch uncontrollably. It started in his foot, then it spread throughout his body. After around 15 minutes, he woke Tara up who was next to him, and asked her to pray for him. She prayed, but Trevor felt the same. He also felt like God wanted us all to wake up and pray for him, but naturally he didn’t want to wake anyone else up.
While these thoughts were going through Trevor’s head, Tara asked “What is God telling you to do?” He hesitated, then said “Wake everyone up.” Tara then made her rounds, waking us all up at close to 3:00am. Her words were simple; “We’re going to pray for Trevor.” Nobody complained. Nobody said anything. We know our role for each other. It was time to pray.
We gathered around Trevor, laid hands on him, and prayed with all we had. He began to call out what was on our hearts. He began to prophesy. As soon as I felt it, he said “Tyler, God wants you to pray out loud.” I did. Minutes passed by like seconds. Time flew by. Yet time stood still. I can’t explain it.
I began to feel as if God was getting ready to pass through the room. We could  all feel it. The room was calm. Then everything became more intense. Prayers became new cries from our hearts. Whispers echoed throughout the room. I was frightened in a way that I have never known before. I didn’t want to look around the room. I was afraid to look over my shoulder. The presence of God was in the room with us. Never before had any of us felt what we were feeling.
Jessica then spoke up…”I just saw a vision in which the devil was choking me, making it so I couldn’t speak.” Immediately after she spoke these words, a righteous anger came upon me. I began to pray louder. More intense. Quoting Jesus. Quoting scripture. Speaking against the enemy, and directly to Jessica. She then prayed louder than me! Words of truth poured from her mouth! She declared the goodness of God! Not straying from His love! She became more alive! More free!
Next was Jenae. She has been so hungry for God, and so thirsty for righteousness, that to witness what happened to her….what a privilege! But before I go any further, you must know that our team doesn’t use our imaginations, then credit God with something that He had no part in. We search for truth in everything so much that at times we become somewhat skeptical. Needless to say, we don’t fall for just anything. We know what we feel. We know what we hear. We know what we see. And we know who speaks.
In the midst of everything that was happening, Jenae, through her tears said “I can’t stop shaking. I didn’t want to say anything at first, because I wanted to test the spirits.” The team then crowded around her, laid hands on her, and began to pray for our sister. Jenae’s body began to shake more and more. Tara then said “Jenae, God is taking control of you. He wants control. Give it to Him.”
After a short while, Jenae prayed out loud. The room grew calm. All was peaceful. As quickly as it had started, it was finished.
Last week, all but four World Race teams were changed. Team SE7EN remains the same. We have heard many times that our team is anointed, and even Krissy mentioned that she hasn’t felt anything like that around any other team.

Perhaps since our team has been seeking the truth in similar areas, God decided to reveal himself to us all at once. The fact that what we witnessed occurred to each of us, right in front of us, validates for us, that this was the work of God.
