As I sat silently on the floor in a crowded room at World Race Launch 9 months ago, I didn’t really feel excited about the worship music going on around me. So, I decided to ask for prayer from one of our leaders, Daniel Chantlos.
I told him I had a lot on my mind and just couldn’t focus on worshiping. When he finished praying for me, he told me maybe I should just write down things that I really wanted to see on my Race; big prayers I could ask God for. I did, and here are the 4 things I wrote down:
1) Save someone in front of my eyes.
2) Allow my squad to stay together
3) Somebody to be healed
4) Somebody to come to know Jesus through my blog
I have seen 3 people come to know Jesus personally in front of me, and I’ve seen a couple people healed. I wish I could say my whole squad remained together the entire Race, but certain circumstances have prevented that. I trust God had a specific plan for those individuals who are now home. So, we come to number 4…
God could have already answered this prayer unbeknownst to me. Regardless, I believe there is at least one person out there who has been following my journey through my blog posts, and you’ve never truly allowed Jesus to make his home in your heart.
Maybe you are reading my blog for the first time, and you’ve been running from God’s love for awhile now but finding it hard to shake.
God’s not mad at you. He doesn’t care what you’ve done, where you’ve been, what you’re currently involved in/with. Come as you are… he meets you there. No judgment, no condemnation. He loves you more than you’ll ever know.
Why Jesus? I could spend eternity trying to convince you why Jesus is the Way, but it honestly wouldn’t do any good. You know if you aren’t satisfied. You know if Jesus is calling you to Him.
Why now? Why not?! We aren’t promised tomorrow. If somebody offered you $10 million today with no strings attached, would you say, “Uh… not really. Maybe next week”?
Why wait for a relationship with the Creator, freedom from your sin that never fully satisfies, and eternal life?
Jesus has wanted you from the beginning. Jesus is the reason I do what I do.
