The moment has come. I am finally leaving for South Africa and 11 other countries tomorrow! In some ways, I can’t believe it’s all happening. However, in many ways I’m ready. I’m ready to just go. I believe God has equipped me with everything I need to be successful in His eyes, because of the fact that He has called me to do this. This week, I have decided to embrace that truth.
We’ve spent the last 5 days at Holiday Inn here in Atlanta for “Launch.” Talk about information overload… scenarios, spiritual growth sessions, safety, health, logistics, music, finance, feedback, and more. Just packing our heads with information about what to expect out there, while also realizing expectations will be torn apart.
Our 1st ministry will be a sports ministry called Kingdom Sports in Cape Town, South Africa! Can’t say how pumped I am about this opportunity!
My buddies Harris, and Ryan. Ryan Otto will stay behind and go to Guatemala soon. He is a great friend and mentor for me. I will miss him, but will see him again soon.
I feel so blessed to be a part of this crazy, awesome group known as B Squad. We are hungry. Hungry to actually change the world. Hungry to see change in ourselves. The old has gone, the new has come!
The ultimate thing I feel like God is calling me towards this year as a leader is to just be myself. Don’t try to seek people’s approval, don’t feel like I have to perform for people. God wants my heart. He’s interested in becoming intimate with me. Therefore, my identify is to be found in Him, and Him alone. My goal is to serve and love my team well, just like Jesus. And guess what? I CAN because I have the Spirit of Jesus inside of me! I have been given an incredible gift to use for God’s glory!!
I am dreaming big this year by asking God for big things; things that can only be accomplished with the presence of God. I made a list of what I want God to do this year:
Save someone in front of my eyes
Allow my entire squad to be fully-funded so that we can all remain in the field
Heal Someone in front of my eyes
Somebody come to Christ through my blog
Ultimately, I am believing God will do these things, because I trust in his unfailing power and love. He is able! Praise the Lord!
