Hello!
Welcome to my journey with the World Race! My name is Tyler King and here is a little about me.
I grew up in a small town north of Knoxville, TN named Jacksboro. I had a great childhood and am very thankful for that. I have two younger sisters who I love dearly and two loving parents. I received salvation in this little town at a church named Indiana Avenue Baptist and Praise the Lord for that!
I currently attend The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and am majoring in Kinesiology; GO VOLS. The Lord has taught me and grown me tremendously during my time at UT through the great friends I have made and through a wonderful church named Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. This church is what actually first brought missions work to my head and heart. The church is very missions focused and I love it for that. I went on two mission trips with the church to Haiti and the Lord gave me a passion for sharing the gospel to those who are lost and for ministry to the underprivileged in this world. Later I got connected through the church to outreach to Muslim refugees in Knoxville. From this outreach I have made great friends and the Lord has grown my passion for working with the underprivileged and also added a passion for outreach to Arabic people.
Now enter the World Race! The experiences I have had with the Lord growing my passion for missions work and outreach led me to a website…THE WORLD RACE. After looking over the website, I could not stop thinking about going and sharing Christ and His love to all of these different people groups. So after a lot of prayer and thought, I felt the Lord’s calling to go. So here I am! I will graduate in December and then leave on the World Race in January, Lord willing.
I would love to have your support for my journey! Any donations would be greatly appreciated and I would love for you to pray for me in the months leading up to my departure and for the time I am on the trip. I will specifically be serving and sharing Christ completely inside the 10/40 window which contains the world’s most unreached people groups. I am so very excited and thankful for the opportunity God has given me and I hope to have you all with me in support!
God bless,
Tyler
