101 Mish Problems
Can't find your socks because you packed up and moved 2x in 3 days (how can you lose 20 pairs of socks)
Leaving your airporter at the hostel… only to have your squad leader call you and ask if that was intentional. Nope it wasn't. I'm thankful we have awesome squad leaders willing to bring it with them.
Peeling an apple with your teeth, because you don't like the peel, dont have a knife, & it's dangerous to eat fruit with the peel in other countries.
Standing inside your pack… trying to get stuff to compact, so you can fit more.
13 hr bus rides in Eastern Europe and 9 hr bus rides in Central America.
Not being able to flush toliet paper (being super excited when after 3 months you get to a country where its okay to flush toliet paper).
Having internet but not being able to skype anyone because your 10 hrs ahead.
Learning alone time REALLY DOES MEAN putting your earbuds in and tuning everyone around you out (just like they told you at training camp)
Having random desires to feedback your friends from back home, because they suck at responding to emails (legit truth)
Being dead tired on a 13 hr bus ride…. but can't sleep because your so uncomfortable…. and can't sleep when your arrive at your hostel because it's now 10:30 am and you want to explore.
Losing track of what day it is and sometimes even what month it is (I'm still stuck in March)
The only people online are other racers and most of them are on your team (you love them, but see them everyday and desire contact with the real world)
When your towel never smells clean
Having to pay for a bag everytime you go to the grocery store (yup it happens)
Eating A boiled egg, bread, and jam for breakfast every morning for a month
Mystery meat (nuff said)
When you live by the buddy system
Not being able to hear yourself think, because the sound system in church is turned up waaay too loud
Spending an hour plucking your eyebrows because you let them go for a month (uhh I mean 2 months)
Waking up with mosquitoe bites all over your legs (expected in Africa…. but Eatern Europe?!? What!)
#At least you hope their mosquitoe bites and not the other devils (I mean bed bugs)
When Uno becomes your favorite game, because you suck at banana grams and one of your team members is a journalist (epic fail) #Why did I go to college
Walking 45 minutes into town to find an atm and wifi
Being piled on a chicken bus with 4 people to a seat
When someone tells you its a 10 minute walk and it turn into 2 miles
When you get off at the wrong bus stop at least 2 miles outside of town, and have to walk with your 50 pound pack and 20 pound day pack to the English school inside of town
When you choose not to wear make up, because it will just melt off anyway
When peanut butter and nutella are your most prized posessions and you and one of your team member's secretly hide them from the rest of the team
When you accidentally break off a piece from the train window (not done by me lol)
When you eat in secret so no one asks for bites of your food #Lisa probs
When your contact chases your team leader around the yard with a shovel full of dead rats #Albania
When your all girls team gets assigned to white wash rat infested pig stalls #running out of pig stalls every 5 minutes = priceless
When the guys on your squad form a death squad to rid the pig stalls of rats #pitch forks + shovels + men + rats + Albania = best form of entertainment on the race yet
When you only have one work shirt and after 3 weeks of painting and white washing people tell you that you look like your wearing the galaxy
When most of your squad goes to Italy for a weekend trip, and you stay home for the peace and quiet
Living at a summer camp with all 41 people from your squad and thinking you just might be in a prison camp
Waiting til the last minute to pack, because your in denial that it's already been a month
Contemplating hiding in the abandoned building across the street on travel day, so your team can forget you in the country you love
Loosing all your music #God just wanted you to fill up on podcasts
Trying to be graceful as you walk down the stairs with your 50 pound pack
memorizing wifi passwords
Forgetting to use soap when you have it, because it's so rare #Liz probs

Not knowing when someone is speaking in tongues or their native language
When your team member still has paint in her hair 3 weeks after your team has been done painting
