Here are some of my lovely top things from El Salvador:
Compassion kids- This month we have had the opportunity to love on compassion international sponsored kids. We have went to the school to talk to them, share our testimonies, do skits, and just have fun. These are some of my favorite kiddos! My first time there, I got to play basketball with about 5 kids. I left exhausted, but they totally captured my heart.
Giving Cody Brown (aka C-lite or Cee Lo when shes not acting like Jesus lol) a run for her money. Cody is our team leader. I greatly respect her way of leading. However, I love to mess with her even more. One night this month I decided to give her a little scare. Our bedroom light does not work. So, I hid behind the door and jumped out at her when she was heading to bed. This resulted in Cody and another person running out onto the balcony. Which then resulted in me laughing hysterically. All jokes aside, Cody is awesome!
Valentines day- We had an epic valentines day in El Salvador. The girls drew names out of a hat for Valentines dates. I was blessed to go on an awesome date with Miss Andi from team Noria. After our dates, we went home for a movie night. We watched Aladdin, and munched on snacks. We had cake, m&m's, crackers and cream cheese, s'mores, and much more. It was just an awesome time of intentional relationship building.
Government School- We had the opportunity this week to visit what would be kind of equivalent to a public school in America. We got to play with the kids and then go in and hang out with a class. The class we hung out with did not have a teacher for the day. These kids were so lively. During recess I played with the girls and boys. They love it when you try and tickle them. These kids are so amazing!!!
Church- Last month we did not have the opportunity to visit any actual churches. It was really hard for me, but God truely blessed me this month. We have had church multiple times a week. We are also blessed to have these services translated to us. WE have also had the opportunity to perform a few skits for the church.
Having a crazy chaotic phone call with my nieces, brother, and sister-in-law- I have not had the opportunity to chat a lot with my family. However, I did get to have a crazy chaotic phone call with multiple people talking at once.
Victors cooking- We have been blessed this month with some awesome cooking from our contact Victor. We have had things like Mac n' Cheese and spaghetti.
Starbucks on days off- Oh my! This is probably one of my fav.'s. I know it's a little shallow, but I have loved have starbucks in San Salvador on our days off.
