I’ve now been home and back in America for twelve days. These twelve days have been extremely difficult. I’ve had melt downs, I’ve had culture shocks, and I’ve had times where I don’t want to be anywhere other than Africa. Throughout these times though, I’ve known that God was with me. Leaving for the World Race wasn’t the biggest transition in my life. Coming back home was. I don’t have any money, I don’t know where I’ll go to college, and I’m not even sure what I’ll major in. So many decisions that need to happen in so little time. So many pressures of America put on me so fast. So many lifestyle changes that are thrown at you. It’s overwhelming!
So I’ve been avoiding you, America.
I’ve rejected the way you live. I’ve rejected everything about you this week. I’ve rejected the idea of settling down in you.
The Lord has finally been giving me some peace in the last few days that I can actually do this. If God gave me strength to live in different cultures for eleven months, he’ll give me strength to live here where I no longer feel normal. So today I decided to finally put up my pictures of the last month of my Race, to finally put up my final blogs, and to close up everything I needed to do with my World Race life. The Lord has a wonderful season in front of me and I’m so excited, which is way more than I could say last week. Just in the past week he has provided more community for me and I’ve made so many new friends just within the past week. He has provided more clarity on my feelings and I’m so grateful for his faithfulness to me.
So since that’s all the update I have, here are my favorite pictures/moments/people on the Race going from month one to month eleven! Some of my favorite pictures are on the blog I recently put up about brokenness. Enjoy! 😀
Guatemala

My precious Candy who I would have adopted in a second if I could!

Nancy will always and forever have my heart. God put her in my life to love forever.
Honduras

Louis was always so much fun to hang out with, he always made me laugh!

Even thinking about this boy puts tears in my eyes. He was one of the people who impacted me the most this year. I can't wait to see this little man again. Quierro mucho Carlos!

I could never leave out Fernando! Such a loving kid.
Nicaragua

These kids were so much fun! One of my favorite orphanges that I visited.

I was able to see Gabo who is my old friend from when I went to Nicaragua the first time! On the right is Edgar who inspired me so much! He's going to be an amazing preacher one day.

This was our little buddy who was deaf. He was the coolest most energetic kid ever. He tried to teach us how to cartwheel and he even arm wrestled our guys.
Thailand

A victim of human trafficking who was laid out in the middle of a walkway at a festival.

Our numerous sing and dance parties we had.
Cambodia

"Baby Girl" as we named her was the sweetest little thing! I miss this village so much!

This girl stole me heart! If you can see her little stub hand and fingers, she had a disability but you would never know without seeing it. She doesn't let it affect her in absolutely any way. I have a video of her making a friendship bracelets while using her feet for help. She is amazing.

This month was my favorite. I loved these children so much!
Vietnam

I wish I could remember this young man's name. He was only 14 years old but was just as mature as an adult. I had the best conversation with him about being a bold christian in a family and country which is against it. Best conversation I had all month.

80's Skate Night!
Malaysia

I didn't get the memo to do a scary face.

Shan and I in our Saris! We played adult dress up!
Kenya

I am in love with this boy. He brought me so much joy!!

My little twin brother and sister!

The children at school! So precious!
Uganda

I absolutely loved watching Daniel (the farthest left) and Happy (the farthest right) dance!

Just eating goat on a stick, no big deal.

My favorite group of guys on the race! I pray for them probably the most out of everyone on the race. Love them SO much!
Tanzania

So cute!

This is what I love to do.

<3
Malawi

Peeking during the prayer!

Not the best picture but this was my favorite ministry in all of Africa. These beautiful women are widows in which get together every week to confide in eachother, worship and sew awesome purses in such to make a living. They are amazing.

Alfred was a man who my heart went out to. He was a 62 year old Rastafarian who always made me laugh!

This little girl crawled over to me and I just knew she would grab my heart. She was the cuddliest little thing!
I have more pictures on facebook if you'd like to see more! 🙂
