Who ate home-cooked dinners with kids almost every night.
Who played hundreds of rounds of UNO and rarely won. Sneaky kids!
Who got to listen to the sound of children sing each Sunday.
Who watched authentic smiles and joy from kids who could have been sold away.
Who poured the foundation for the boys home.
That started as this.
And ended with this.
We napped wherever and whenever possible.
Including Becky!
We got the cultured experience!
Fish spas.
Taxi-calling experts.
Elephant tamers!
And avid culture show watchers.
Village people.

But sometimes we faced reality.
It was hard to face.
But impossible to avoid.
