If you’ve been to Times Square, you will know how crowded the streets can be, especially during the holidays. Take the picture that just popped in your head and multiply it ten-fold. Welcome to China.
You don’t know China. Nope. You don’t. On every street new skyscrapers are going up and subways are being dug below. Apple products are in the hands of every young adult and money is forked out for H&M’s latest clothing line at the mall. Craving a morning pick-me-up? Starbucks can be found, just not at every street corner. But in all the hustle and bustle and millions of people who crowded the streets, hope and faith is nonexistent. There is none. Christianity would not even count a full grain of sand on the worlds largest beach.
So what did I do this last month? My team and I brought hope, joy, peace, faithfulness and all that the Holy Spirit could give. Our squad helped lay the foundation for future World Race teams. We walked block to block and made it be known that Christians are here. We brought relentless smiling and laughter and more “hellos” than the amount of noodles in all the bowls we ate during our month in China. We visited an “underground” church that soon will be overflowing with new Christians. We spoke English with hundreds, maybe thousands of college students. We were unashamed of our faith and never hid why we were in China. We are missionaries, we love Jesus and we believe the Bible to be the word of God. And you know what? People didn’t turn away or get scared, they asked for more. They wanted what they saw in us.
We mostly likely will not see the impact our team had this last month for years to come. But what we do know is that people are ready for the Gospel in China. They need Jesus now. They need your prayers to be bold in their faith and to share the Gospel. They need you.
I will have more updates on China in coming days or weeks and as the internet will willingly allow. I love you all, thankful for all my supporters and those I have yet to thank. Know that I appreciate you and love you like crazy.
