The sun pours out over the Earth in perfect harmony as He allows it to breathe life to ever tree, plant, and person. The beauty and complexity of a flower down to the very last glucose molecule cries out to Him. You have been created with an insane complexity and you are uniquely and wonderfully made down to your tiniest freckle. The stars of the sky and the whales of the sea echo praises to Him. No one is and ever will be just like you, with a unique culture, family, and background. Every moment of your life is a special gift, divinely placed before you so that He can reveal Himself to you in a greater measure. Every feeling and emotion created so that you can understand His glory; from the warming presence of a friends hug to the most delicious taste from your favorite meal. His glory and creativeness is present everywhere, from the most beautiful landscape to the overwhelming joy that comes from scoring your first goal. He is in and through everything.

I look around and see us worship the world and not the creator of heaven and earth. Me being one of the worst. We worship sports teams, bands, actors, our bodies, and our knowledge. We jump up and down singing praises to a group of men that are merely good at kicking a ball. How much more is there to a prophetic word over someone’s life, then to a ball in the back of a net. I look at how excited people get about a new movie or a concert they are about to attend, but don’t jump for joy in thankfulness because they are alive. The breath you just breathed was divinely given to you. Yet we let the world fill are hearts and minds and we meditate on peoples skills instead of the beauty of the creator. Who gave the earth its beauty? Who gave the athletes the skill and unique talents to dunk a ball? Who gave musicians the talents and abilities they possess? Who truly deserves the praise?

A few years ago I met this girl that had a degenerative disease that breaks down muscle. She said: “I will never be able to walk or run. I will never be able to play in the yard or have someone congratulate me on a physical achievement. I can barely give someone a hug. He has taken all my physical strength, but I will still praise Him. So the next time you run around and are able to dress yourself and use the restroom by yourself. Be thankful. Be thankful. You don’t know what you have. One day when I am in heaven. Jesus will give me my legs back, and i will be able to run."
