As we were eating dinner last night, we noticed some red in the distance near the lake.  As we stood up to see what it was, we realized that it was two fires and looked pretty close to where the chicken coop was located (which we had spent all month building).  Rebecca and Cara walked outside to see if it was actually near it.

As I followed them out, I grabbed my shoes (since we need to take them off and leave them outside to respect the cultural norms).  Either Rebecca or Cara told us that it looked like the chicken coop was on fire and started running.  I relayed the message to the people still inside and then ran toward it to help.  The people inside came outside to see what they could do to help.

As Rebecca and Cara reached the chicken coop, they yelled that it was not on fire.  As I arrived there, it turned out that one of the houseparents had built some fires right next to the chicken coop.  The chicken coop never did catch on fire to our relief.

The chicken coop is the fenced area on the right so you can see how close it was to the fire.
