So I’m reading all the way through the Bible- I’m in Numbers. As I was complaining about the food provided for me (rice and beans) I was reminded of the Israelites complaining about their ‘manna’ and how they wanted meat, and how they felt that things were better in Egypt when they were slaves. But, luckily the Lord has allowed me to go into town about once per week- 🙂 it’s a very fun drive on nasty roads. We’ve even boda’d on them so fun! So yesterday, my team came up with an enticing idea of staying in a  ‘hotel’  for a night to have a hot shower, electricity, a bed team time, and good food.

We arrived and we got three rooms with nice beds. We went to get lunch at Coffee Hut and then walked around to get groceries and find a place for dinner. We get back to our hotel to drop off our stuff and head to dinner. It starts to pour- so we start running and slipping, and laughing because we are getting ridiculously wet and laughed at by everyone watching. We get to the restaurant, try to find enough non cushy chairs to sit in so we don’t get their furniture drenched and order pizza and cokes. The electricity goes out but we had candles and they had a generator to make our food. Good dinner!

We begin to walk home and our shoes get so muddy that it’s hard to pick our feet up, we can’t see a thing and we’re slipping on the mud with our muddy non traction shoes. The darkness makes it even more sketchy.

It’s always fun bonding as a team and building friendships.

Arrived home, praise the Lord, and was ready to enjoy my  nice hot shower, only to find that a bucket was still a necessity in the showering process because the water does not drain. So I go to turn on the spout for water to pour over me, and it’s a drip, literally, ( I wish this picture did justice) so I turn on the faucet and it’s a little better, so I duck under the faucet standing in my bucket and proceed to get myself as wet as possible and then soap up- had to empty the bucket into the sink, but then the sink just leaked anyway lol. So I proceed and finally give up and end up sitting in the bucket and letting water run on me until I had to empty the bucket again. Best part though, having a towel that actually dries me off and wraps around my body to put on after-ooowee what a blessing.  It’s been a good day. Tomorrow=café larem and coffee and internet and shopping.

That’s all! We’ll be leaving for Tanzania on Friday or Saturday- another month over.

Deuteronomy 31:8- The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
