hello all!
Things are going really well here in Kenya! we leave on Friday which is crazy to be moving onto another country already!
Here is a brief story for you about hut to hut:
So, sometimes it feels like you are not making a difference and you are just going through the motions, but then God throws you a bone!
We met a woman on our first day of hut to hut named Margaret, we spoke with her and she stated that she was having trouble with her husband because he was not a believer and that frightened her to be a believer, she thought that the devil was stronger than God. Yikes.
Through prayer and some words of encouragement, we left…but we left feeling unsettled about her life and her story. we went to visit her again Saturday and she divulged lots of information about her life and what is really going on with her family- heart breaking. There is infection in her family, she has had a child die of infection, her husband is violent toward her, and she has a plan of suicide which she described in detail. She also has 5 children.
She felt very pursued by the Lord when we came to see her again and she came to church the next day to see us again! Although, her problems are not gone, her eyes had a glimmer of hope in them on Sunday and we are going to visit her again on Tuesday- maybe you can’t reach thousands of people in each country, maybe you can. But to know that we had an effect on her life for the positive was enough for me. Praise God!
Another young man also came to church that we ministered to named Charles- we don’t know if he will continue to come but we know that after we prayed that God would speak to Him, God spoke. and that encouraged him to come to church to learn more!
Church is just awesome where we are- i love the enthusiasm for the Lord- it’s awesome.
One more fun fact: a young woman named Dorothy, goes door to door with us during the week. She gave her testimony on Sunday and stated that she had no friends, no peace and no hope- and then a different world race team (K squad) came to her house one day and prayed for her, invited her to church and her life has never been the same.
Be encouraged brothers and sisters in Christ- you may not see the fruits of you labor for the Lord- K squad has no idea that this girl is now such an intregal part of the church- God will use your labor and your love for Him and others to bring Kingdom and to bring people to a better place- hope in suffering, joy in distress, and so much love we can never comprehend it! Keep telling people! Keep preaching! and most of all KEEP LOVING! Show God’s love to others by loving them!
Matthew 24: 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come!
