Yeah, it was a diverse group to fix my tooth. I fractured it straight through the middle, and it was the worst. I immediately thought, “How am I going to get this EXTRACTED in a foreign country?!!!” Update: don’t have to get it extracted. Instead, I have to go in to see the Venezuelan dentist and bring a German to translate because my Spanish dentist vocabulary is extremely limited.
Through these random events, I am learning patience and how to do ministry when I am “not at ministry”. Repeatedly, I have had to leave the school for the dentist. I was very frustrated about having to leave, thinking I was missing a chance to talk about Jesus and impact people. I didn’t realize that the German was someone God wanted me to get to know. I’ve been able to laugh with him about situations at ministry, tell him about past mission trips I’ve been on, and I’ve learned that he has been living here in Ecuador for months without a team, just to work with these kids. Little did I know that God has been slowly growing a friendship with the German through this stupid cracked tooth.
Ministry Update: Next month, just Team Triumph is going to a mountain town called Latacunga! We will be working again with special needs kids in an orphanage. We will be living in an apartment on site and in charge of meals for ourselves and transportation (because we’re adults..ish)
Please continue to pray for our team! We are being challenged with this next ministry because three months with this type of ministry is tough for some of us, so prayers would be appreciated.
