When I was accepted to the race, I was beyond excited! I received my blog login and was so excited to get to work fundraising. Then I was attacked. I saw the huge number $13,805 and thought, “There is no way this comes in time.” In less than a month, over $4,000 came in. I was blown away at how much God provided for me, and just demolished the fear and anxiety I had. Then I was attacked again. I thought, “Okay, all that money came from close friends and family. How in the heck am I supposed to raise almost $10,000 more, and from people beyond those I’m close to?!” Since then, and only through sending letters, another $6000 has been so generously given.
I am reminded of the story of Jesus taking the little bread and fish, and feeding the 5000. He blew the minds of that crowd. He took something so simple, so small, and not only met their needs, but surmounted them. The Lord took my one page letter, answered my prayer of needing the first deadline paid, and He also provided the funds for the second deadline to be met eight months in advance.
I am so grateful for the prayers, donations, and encouragement I have received. I have never personally seen Him provide as much as I have the last three months.
