This past month as been incredible in Malawi, Africa. The weather was hot with torrential down pours frequently. The intense blue sky all across the country is nothing like I have ever seen before. The clouds are magnified, the blue sky and green land contrast each other with 100% saturation. It’s one of the Wow factors on the race. Malawi is incredibly beautiful!
We started the month out with month 7 debrief at a backpacker lodge called Mufasa (ironic name). Our amazing squad coaches welcomed us with open arms as we piled off a 35 hour bus ride from Tanzania. I felt like I was finally home with the Christ like presence they bring. Having a route change and going to Malawi in stead of Mozambique was truly a gift from God. Healings took place, the soil was fertile for people to accept Christ as it says in John chapter 4. The fields are ripe for harvest and the people of Malawi are amazing; the most loving people I have ever met in my life. Malawi is a country that is God lead and eager to know more Jesus.
As our team set off into the mission field our first stop was Dwangwa, a small town 5 hours north of the capital Lilongwe. We literally lived in the middle of a primary school. As you can guess we were quite popular being a group of white girls in an African community. Kids would simply wait outside our door to catch a glimpse, get in a wave or exchange a smile. Our 5 days in Dwangwa were well spent with door to door evangelism, bible studies, story telling and encouragement. We worked with a wonderful pastor and were so accompanied by his wife and family.
Location number two was Nkhotakota, located right off Lake Malawi. We continued our door to door evangelism walking many miles everyday, continued bible studies under a gorgeous African tree, visiting schools, speaking in churches all in front of a community that is mostly muslim. The people wanted to know more about our Savior and Son of God Jesus Christ by inviting us into their homes and gathering all the information they could. This month was special because God blessed with the most wonderful contacts and translators. There was no language barrier and communication flowed easily as we told people about the gospel and what God was doing in each of our individual lives.
Timothy Harvest Ministries literally made our month so unique with a strong God lead vision, organization and interests that matched up with our team. We are here spread the gospel! There was so much light this month and the kingdom of God was brought to the people we visited because God allowed it. I feel our team did a great job in walking in who God created us to be. “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light”. – 1 Peter 2:9

The kids are so precious.
This month was also a perfect example of Romans 8:28. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose.” I can’t express more how good God is and how he is working the same in America as he is around the world in Malawi, Africa. It’s the true definition of beautiful.
