“I am the vine; you are the branches. If man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

We are not always going to see the fruit we bare, even though we would like to. We are not always going to see the affects of a smile passed on while walking down the street. We are not always going to see the immediate acceptance of Christ even after you gave Jesus all you could and loved all you can. However, it doesn’t mean he is not working, he is always at work. “..My Father is always at work to this very day, and I, too, am working.” John 5:17

By nature we are impatient beings and want to see the immediate results of the fruits we bare and the prayers we send. We want to be involved directly in God’s works and see them happen before our eyes. However, it’s a battle everyday to know it’s not about us, it’s about him. Who are we to say when things happen or how they happen? God’s timing is always perfect, he knows every person situation (“Nothing in creation is hidden from God’s sight..” Hebrews 4:13) what they need and how they need to see how he loves them. We do our part that Christ gives us and be Christ like the best we can with the help of his strength and the rest is up to him. The pressure is off of us and the ultimate decision is up to him which allows us to live freely and remain a slave to nothing. “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Galations 5:1

We as christians already know the splendor of his works and how mighty our God is without having to see immediate results all the time. His glory is displayed everyday in our lives with evidence all around us. Small things like air in our lungs, freedom in Jesus, his love for the world in which he created, his infinite creations in nature; and how small every detail of everything around us is. I know could never create any of these things. Leaning on his understanding in situations and not our own puts trust in God that he knows best all the time, that his timing is always right and that he is for us, shifts the ultimate control to his hands and when our fruits will bring glory to his name. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
